When should I book my newborn photography session?
As soon as possible, preferably while you are still pregnant. The ideal age for a newborn photography session is when baby is between 6-14 days old. It’s important to have them photographed in this time frame, as they are still nice and sleepy, and are happy to be curled up and wrapped nice and snug. After 2 weeks of age newborns can be harder to settle as they are more alert and aware of their surroundings.
Where does the session take place and how long will it go for?
Your newborn session will take place in the comfort of your own home. I will bring a few things to create your newborn photos, such as a photography beanbag, blankets and wraps and we will utilise your home environment to create intimate and natural family photos with your new baby. The session will go for approximately two hours, giving plenty of time for feeding and settling when needed. Throughout that time we do a number of different set ups with baby on their own, family shots, individual shots with each parent, and sibling shots.
what do we need to do to prepare for our newborn photography session?
Relax! I know those early days with a newborn can be stressful and overwhelming, and if we're honest, a photoshoot is probably the last thing you feel like doing, but put those stresses aside for two hours and let me capture the love you have for your tiny new baby. We will follow baby's lead throughout the session, but if you start with having bub fed just as I'm arriving, hopefully they will be content to begin the photo session.
Newborn safety is of upmost priority and with specialised training in newborn posing with some of the industry’s top newborn photographers you can rest assured your little one is in safe hands.
How much is a newborn photography session with vanessa grace photography?
The cost of a newborn photo shoot is the all inclusive price of $650. This includes your two hour in home photography session and all of the edited images supplied to you as digital images, free to print and share as you wish.
